About Kaarta-Moorda Aboriginal Corporation

According to the Single Noongar Claim lodged on 10 September, 2003, Noongar country covers the entire south-western portion of Western Australia, the boundary of which commences at the west coast at a point south of Geralton (near Enneabba), proceeds easterly to a point approximately north of Moora and then south-east to a point on the southern coast between Bremer Bay and Margaret River.  The area includes major towns such as Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Albany, York, Merredin, Katanning and the Perth Metropolitan area (SWALSC, It’s still in my heart, this is my country: The Single Noongar Claim History, 2009).

Kaarta-Moorda Aboriginal Corporation is the sole owner of Peedac Pty Ltd and its subsidiaries. Membership is open to all adult Indigenous people who live within its boundary of operation (see rule book).

There are 10 elected directors who meet at least four times per annum to receive reports on the current businesses of Peedac Pty Ltd and its subsidiaries as well as formulate policy and direction. These directors represent financial members in their district so it is their role to bring up any suggestions or concerns of those members.

There is a $10.00 annual membership fee and each member is eligible to serve on the board as a director.
