Recruiting NOW for Perth metro and regional projects in Albany, Armadale, Bunbury, Bayswater, Cannington, Gosnells, Gwelup, Kwinana, Ocean Reef, Mandurah, Midland, Pinjarra and Rockingham.

National Green Jobs Corps is the Australian Government’s environmentally focused work experience and accredited training program for 17-24 year olds.

If you answered YES to these questions then you could be the right person for the National Green Jobs Corps. Projects run for 26 weeks in various metro areas.
FREE program to eligible participants who are:
- Aged 17–24 years
- Receiving Youth Allowance (other), Newstart Allowance or Parenting Payment and not working more than 15 hours per week
- Disability Support Pension recipients willing to work 15 hours per week or more
- 17–20 year olds who are not in receipt of Income Support Payments and not working more than 15 hours per week or in full-time education
All National Green Jobs Corps participants who meet the Centrelink criteria are eligible for the Education Entry Payment (EEP) of $208, for participating in an Approved Activity and also an Activity Supplement of $41.60 per fortnight. Training materials and uniforms (i.e. cargo pants, shirts) included. Job Services Australia to supply Personal Protective Equipment; steel capped boots, safety glasses and rigger gloves.
NOW Green activities offer accredited training in Certificate 1 & 2 in Conservation and Land Management
- OH&S in industry; learn how to work safely and effectively in an outdoor environment. Learn how to work and communicate effectively in a team.
- Water monitoring at key locations to check results on water quality improvements, due to revegetation and restoration of natural bushland.
- Weed Management – Hard weeding is the removal of woody weeds by manual methods e.g. loppers and pruning saws. Soft weeding is removal of grasses and green weeds by using chemical applications (Glyphosate/Roundup) or by manual removal (hand pulling).
- Mulching to reduce weed impact and also to retain moisture at base of plants. Using trailers, wheelbarrows and hand tools such as mulching forks and shovels.
- Planting riparian zones to aid in filtration of nutrients from surrounding pastoral land and to reduce bank erosion caused by run off.
- Interpretive sign installation.
- Fencing maintenance and repairs; learning to work safely with hand tools and materials such as fence posts, ring-lock and single strand wire. Learning to re-hang gates.
- Revegetation and maintenance of various sites around the metro region. Type of activities will include track maintenance, pruning trees and bushes, weeding, planting and site surveys.
- Native landscape design and installation for Waterwise community gardens
- Cultural Awareness and Training
- Whitecard Training
