NOONGAR MEDIA ENTERPRISES
100.9FM Noongar Radio is managed by Noongar Media Enterprises (NME), a subsidiary company of PEEDAC, which is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Based Organisation.
NME is an organisation which provides Noongar people the opportunity to have their voices heard through radio broadcasts in the Perth Metropolitan area.
3: Casual Broadcaster - Extended Recruitment Pool

Please note: Noongar Media Enterprises (NME) will assess applications in February, with a view to commencing potential casual appointments from March 2009.
From its very visible studios at 207 Beaufort St in Perth, NME is committed to the broadcast of positive, informed, empowering programming which support and promote the achievements and aspirations of the Noongar community it serves.
But this is much more than just another radio station
Indigenous media contributes to the building of self esteem, creating and fostering engagement and capacity building both within and outside of the Noongar Community. It promotes reconciliation, which includes the progress towards a more just and equal Australian Society.
The objectives of Noongar Media Enterprises are:
To provide Noongar people with a media that recognizes, respects and affirms our distinct identity and inherent rights and responsibilities in Australian society as Noongar people;
To protect and promote the human rights of all Noongar people, which includes women, youth and children whose interests must be acknowledged and respected at all times;
To produce and broadcast independent news and current affairs programs that address issues of importance to Noongar and Aboriginal people, which also recognize our connections with Indigenous peoples worldwide;
To assist and support the revival and maintenance of Noongar language and cultural identity through broadcast of Noongar language programs:
To promote and highlight Indigenous music and musicians;
To support the Noongar representative organizations, particularly in the areas of health and healing, law and justice, the arts and music, education and employment, through their direct involvement;
To ensure the active participation of the members of the Noongar community in the affairs of the Association and in accordance with the Community Broadcasting radio code of practice;
To ensure the employment and professional development of Noongar people at all levels, including management, production, broadcast and administration;
To provide professional training and traineeships in the areas of broadcasting production and journalism;
To recognize and promote the importance of volunteers who may be members of the Noongar and wider community;
To support the development of other forms of Indigenous media, including Indigenous television and film.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Applicants are asked to submit an expression of interest in becoming a broadcaster for Noongar Media Enterprises. Applicants will be assessed on a combination of skills and qualifications relevant to the position, as well as Noongar community experience. Broadcasting experience is not the sole requirement for these positions as training will be offered.
Please note that interviews will not be conducted.
