Yelka Employment Service (DES)
Yelka Employment Service Disability Management Service is for Indigenous/Non-Indigenous job seekers with a disability, injury and/or health condition who require the assistance of a Disability Employment Service (DES).
Meeting with your Disability Employment Service (DES)
At your first appointment you will meet with a consultant who will tailor an Employment Pathway Plan (EPP) for you that may include:
- Help manage your disability and other medical or health interventions
- Over coming and managing other barriers to employment
- Gaining new skills and qualifications
- Accessing work experience opportunities
- Provide information on Productivity Places Program and Language, Literacy and Numeracy Program
YES provide a range of services through the DES – DMS such as:
- Assistance with resume & career advice
- Access to internet / email / printer
- Assistance with training courses
- Motivation and preparation for employment
- Assistance with finding employment & job placement support
- Assistance with work clothes for employment
- Post Placement assistance & mentoring
- Wage Subsidy
- Indigenous vacancies advertised on Indigenous email network
- Indigenous programs, courses and contacts
Your plan may include:
- One on one sessions
- Employment Preparation
- Vocational Assessment
- Linking with specialist Services
- Monitoring/Reviewing current support
- Job Searching/Canvassing
- Productivity Places Program Training
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy
- Wage Subsidy
- Post-Placement Support – for 26 weeks that begins on commencement of employment
